Art of Trash 2009

On Friday night at the Maui Mall the opening of the 2009 Art of Trash held it's public opening. What a great show it is too.

Being a recycle junkie and cringing at the thought of having to throw away items that could be used by others, even if it's just for the beauty the hold when combined with other items considered trash to some. As the saying goes "one mans trash is another man's treasure.

The Maui Mall was a great place to host the opening of the 2009 Trash of Art exhibition at a time when the economy is just barely moving along. The Maui Mall is a very easy mall to get in and out of and the crowd was such that it was a very comfortable atmosphere.

The displayed were varied and there even was a band headed by Robert Sargenti using materials that were recycled into a drum set, upright bass and even a banjo looking instrument. In the hands of the various volunteers and Robert, they managed to put on a pretty good show of jam sessions that ran the gamut. I did manage to get some video up on their raggae song that they did impromptu.
